Regardless of the project you need a dumpster for, there are certain best practices you should always follow. Here at Schiebel Waste, these are things we review with all our customers but sometimes it's best to know these things even before calling our offices. Continue reading to learn more about our dumpster rentals and how to get the most out of them during your rental.
Properly Assess the Amount of Waste You Have
Your dumpster needs will change based on the amount of waste you have to get rid of. You should also consider the weight of this waste. At Schiebel Waste we offer 10, 15, & 20 Yard roll-off containers that can be dropped in the ideal location to make sure your project stays efficient. As mentioned above, weight is a factor when renting your container. See the breakdown of containers and weight limits below:
- 10-yard Container- 1-Ton Limit
- 15 Yard Container- 2-Ton Limit
- 20 Yard Container- 3 Ton Limit
Before calling to set up the time and date to have your dumpster dropped off, consider the weight of your waste and overall size. Once the dumpster is filled past its limit, no more items can be added even if you are underweight.
Adding Items to your container
There is some strategy in how you're through items away in your container to ensure you get the most out of it. Be sure to break down boxes or any other items to ensure there is no empty space within or between the items you are throwing out. It is best to start with lighter, broken-down items or items that are flat by nature. After getting your container roughly halfway full, start adding heavier items that will help crush the lighter items below. Again, this helps make the most of your container.
Prohibited Items for Storage Containers.
Like any dumpster removal service, there are items that are prohibited. With Schiebel Waste, we outline these prohibited items in the contract and verbally let our customers know prior to rental. If prohibited items are found, you are subject to being fined by the terms outline in the contract. See prohibited items below:
- Food Waste/ General Trash
- Contaminated Soil
- Industrial Drums
